Set a Personal Goal of 10% of Starting Weight

Even if you had a great week, you might be tempted to get discouraged if you happen to have a lot of weight to lose. Fortunately, there are several little tricks that can help you with your journey. If you weigh 306 pounds, you probably have naturally set a goal of getting below 300. But how do you keep your spirits up when you don’t have a big round number in your sights?

This week I challenge you to set a personal goal of losing 10% of your starting weight. No, you don’t have to lose 10% of your weight this week, you only have to set a goal that you are going to stay with the program until you lose at least 10% of your starting weight. So, if you weigh 254, your immediate goal is 25.4 pounds. Don’t worry about the rest of the weight that you have to lose. By the time you lose the 10%, you will have proven to yourself that you can lose the weight and you will have momentum on your side.
